It looks like Facebook now supports a custom settings page, which enables you to control the way your messages are interpreted by the News Feed. Many of us use different English versions of our profiles and are pleased when they show up in the News Feed without any extra spam. However, this wasn’t always true. In fact, some people were having difficulty using the custom setting to their advantage because the information they wanted to display in their News Feed settings wasn’t showing up. So read on to the end to learn all about the new feature and how you can take full advantage of it.
As you may have guessed, Facebook now has an official English language setting. So now you need to put aside your non-English language settings and remember to always read this post carefully to the end. Even more importantly, you already know that Facebook lets you share your thoughts in over 150 different languages (apart from your default English reaction words to personalize default responses). Now you can easily take this one step further and control how your Facebook messages are shown in the different languages you use on Facebook.
To use this new feature, go to the main preferences section, and then click on “Change Settings”. This will take you to a page where you can choose which languages you want to see in your News Feed. Facebook now has a preference for the main five languages that its users communicate in. You can change this setting by clicking on the appropriate link. Once you do this, each time you log on to Facebook you’ll see the new language selected for your profile!
Changing your language back to English is easy too. To do this, log on to your Facebook account and click on your account icon near the top right corner of the navigation bar. This will take you to your main profile page. Select the “English (US) Language” tab, then click on “Change Settings”. Again, if you change back to your desired language, a pop up window will appear containing the English (US) Language setting.
To change your language back to English, just tap on this menu button in the top right corner of the settings area. You will be shown your preferred language in a drop down list. When you have chosen your desired language, click on “Change Settings”, then “OK”. Facebook will display a message indicating that you changed your language.
If you would like to change your language anytime, all you need to do is open your account and tap on “Settings”. Here you will see your current language options. If you would like to change language settings to another language, just tap on the appropriate option and follow the onscreen instructions. You will be asked if you want to update your default language preferences, if you want to change the language settings for a specific region, or if you would rather switch to a different language. If you are not satisfied with the changes, simply tap on “Backport”, and the changes will be applied.
You can change Facebook language at any time by tapping on “Settings” from the main menu bar and tapping on the “language” section. You will see a list of available languages. If you would like to pick your preferred language, just tap on one of the options and follow the onscreen instructions. The new language selection will be applied to your profile page.
Facebook now provides an even greater opportunity for everyone to communicate freely with their friends across the world. To make the experience richer and more meaningful, users are encouraged to set language barriers so that they can chat with those who speak their preferred languages. For example, a US citizen may be able to chat with a Canadian while both individuals use the English language. With this newest functionality of the Facebook iPhone, everyone will have a greater opportunity to connect throughout the world!
